Ski Trip 2016

"Yay!!" I yelled. "We are finally at  Pipers Lodge". The school ski trip was about to start and it only happens every two years. "I wonder who are going to be my room mates and how many of my friends will be in my room?" I thought. Suddenly, Mrs B started calling out the names of the night time groups. I was so glad when I found out that Kyra, Mia, Lani and I were room mates. We all started jumping up and down then we went to our room to choose what bed we were going to sleep on.

On the second day, everyone had to get out of their beds early to get dressed. After breakfast, we brushed our teeth, brushed our hair then got our shoes on. Everyone had to go to the lounge to have a quick meeting and to make sure that no one would be left behind. We jumped into a bus then we were all on our way to the mountain.

I got super duper nervous when we got there.  I also had a bit of trouble when I got off the chair lift down to Happy Valley. I wasn't really good at the lesson that we all got but I still tried and then I started to like it. But when the lesson was finished I didn't go down the big steep hill because I didn't really have the guts to do it.

On the third day we all went back to the mountain and were skiing again and I'd say I got better than last time and I enjoyed it and Lilly kindly encouraged me to go down the steep hill and it was AWESOME!!

 The End

  1. What a great recount, Kate. You were the most courageous young lady on the mountain because even though you found skiing hard and scary, you persevered and overcame your fear. By the second day on the mountain, you were a fabulous skier!!

  2. I'm glad you didn't give up Kate ... so often in life we need to push ourselves just a little bit beyond our comfort zone (what we would normally think we are capable of) to feel the thrill and satisfaction of achieving something new and rewarding.
